I’m using the most amazing serum ever invented…I am not even joking. The formula was engineered to repair the DNA that damages the skin called AC-11. If that DNA is repaired, it reacts like a chain and repairs the rest. Scars are improved, skin texture etc. I’ve used it for just one day and I see a different. I was skeptical as usual, but I’m really blown away. The only problem, it costs a fortune to produce. Skin care is not cheap to make. This is why some products are expensive because the ingredients are so complex. When you work in the skin care industry that deals with cell base repair, you cannot just use water and aloe and call it a day. Majority of the time it’s packaging yes, but when they’re no advertising or marketing expenses, you are ultimately paying for the real deal. Rule of thumb, if you’ve never heard of it and it is expensive, it’s because it works. I will keep you all updated on this amazing find. I am still touching my face…holy moly.

I think Ms. Phan just has naturally great skin no matter what she uses it will be perfects skin its all in the genetics i dont think anything could repair dna genetics that easily i could b wrong tho
why don’t we wait for Michelle to tell us what product that is? I really want to know because I am curious in seeing what the ingredient list is for that product. I really do not think there is anything out there that can repair DNA in general.
@lonelily –> you stupid girl/guy. you sooo did not just diss makeupalley. if you had an inkling of what the skincare board is like, you would know that the only trolllike person around is you.
and just to refute your claims about how “ALL of the drugstore skincare has harmful chemicals and shit”…
NO SHIT they have chemicals. EVERYTHING has chemicals. That does not mean these products are bad. In fact, natural organic products are often not always good for your skin…i.e. menthol.
Want some examples of GOOD DRUGSTORE PRODUCTS?
- RoC –> contains retinol. promotes cell turnover
- Neutrogena 3-in-1 Acne Treatment –> contains the right pH for the BHA in it to be effective
- Eucerin CoA –> good moisturizer with CoA
- Alpha Hydrox –> effective AHA product that helps cell turnover
- Cetaphil –> basic cleanser that is effective and gentle
DOES THIS BLOW YOUR MIND?
I can honestly say that your statement about how “they don’t care what goes on your skin” applies to IQQU as well.
And I, for one, have no qualms about a product’s price if it is JUSTIFIED. Her prices ARE NOT. Want a good example? La Roche Posay Anthelios SPF 50+, made in France, goes for about $50 for two bottles. Why do I love this product? It actually protects your skin, and is HELLA cheaper than IQQU’s sunscreen.
“I think its great how rude gay people go online and bash Michelle, yet she doesnt let that discourage her”
first of all, don’t use the word “gay” as a negative, derogatory term.
second, NO SHIT she doesn’t let these comments discourage. She still needs to make money. DUH.
third, yes go ahead and follow her advice. the rest of us will just laugh at trolls like you. worshipping a person online you’ve never met and who probably doesn’t give a shit about you? HAH. you’ll grow up one day.
thank you picachu and the rest. I’m so glad i’m not the only sane one.
and um if you’re tech savvy you can probably try to see the IP addresses and know that yes we’re all different ppl.
While I’m glad that Michelle found such a great product, I highly doubt that it can “repair the DNA that damages the skin… [and] if that DNA is repaired, it reacts like a chain and repairs the rest.” I go to medical school. DNA doesn’t work that way. I think you, Michelle, have great skin to begin with… but I’d take everything with a grain of salt.
And, “Rule of thumb, if you’ve never heard of it and it is expensive, it’s because it works.” Yeah, I don’t know about that. Sounds like a clever marketing scheme to me.
I think Michelle Phan is amazing; however, will this “amazingness” continue? Eventually everyone gets “old.” There’s only so far she can go with makeup, art and hair. I feel like I’m starting to see the same things (literally–the redone video on saving lipgloss?). People are going to get tired of the Jonas Brothers, of Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez and Demitria Lovato. Just as they got tired of Raven Symone, Aly&AJ, Shia Laebouf, and Hillary Duff; but Shia Laebouf has gotten somewhere (e.g. Transformers). Will Michelle?
Sara M. and Pichachu, I agree. As a science major, I highly doubt it can “repair the DNA…” As you said Sara M. DNA doesn’t work that way.
And expensive products don’t always work well. I’ve been able to purchase expensive products for my hair and skin. I always get compliments on my skin and I do not use Michelle’s line. I use products that can be found at the local drugstore.
Also, if you all are unable to spend money, you can still listen to michelle and go back in the day. Ancient Romans were said to have great skin. They would use olive oil to scrape the dirt off their skin. Then they would rinse with water.
Gotta be heading out.
PBS
Yes everyone’s skin is different , but it’s true what will work for some people may not necessarily work for other people. The same goes for me lots of my friends recommend good skincare products, but when I use it on my face it goes dry and flaky. It’s good when people recommend skincare products just keep in mind it may or may not work for you. I don’t assume anything until I have tried it for myself nor do I go all sour over the product just cause it didn’t work. Yes I am skeptical to buy skincare products cause for one I don’t know if it will work for me and two if it doesn’t work I can’t get a refund meaning money down the drain.
I don’t think people should assume anything until they have tried the product themselves.
I’m not against Michelle or her skincare line ^^. I find her tutorials truly amazing. I admire her dedication to work.
I have never tried IQQU’s products.
I really wanted to try the replenishing cream ^^ then I saw it was only 30ml.
IQQU is too pricey for me since it can only be purchased online.
Yes IQQU has satisfied buyers I read the reviews ^^. But few customers said IQQU products are good but they would not repurchase IQQU products because of the size/price.
The thing that put me of buying IQQU wasn’t the size/price it was a few buyer reviews said that when they received there products the boxes/plastic wrapping were open, caps were not tightened, faulty pumps, less than half of the contents was dried up/empty, product looked like it was tampered with. It sounded like the workers were slacking off on quality checks? Things like that seriously put people off purchasing skincare online.
I’m sure Michelle works really hard at her job and real busy with promoting her skincare line. But at that price I really don’t think your getting moneys worth. I really don’t mind spending that amount of money say 115-75ml that’s about the average size of moisturizer, etc depending of whichever department store brand you are buying. It cost me about £28 for RMK skintuner fruit 175ml that lasts me 4-5 months.
I prefer to buy skincare within my own price range.
Don’t get me wrong Michelle is amazing I love watching her make up tutorials I appreciate her dedication to fulfill make up requests from people. I’m just expressing my personal opinion but in no way am I trying to push my opinions onto Michelle or the commentor’s here you can read and ignore ^^. This is not a negative comment nor a hateful comment towards Michelle.
Keep up the good work Michelle ^O^
Look forward to seeing more make up tutorials soon.
Sorry the above message was longer than expected ^^.And no it was not a kiss ass comment. Just ignore the top part Mozilla was messing up didn’t proof read it before submitting but yeah the top paragraph was supposed to have been deleted.
Drugstores have good brands at reasonable prices that actually work. I’m using a moisturizer by Simple, which has no harsh chemicals, etc. It’s vitamin enriched too so it keeps my skin really hydrated plus you can use it on your lips too. It only costs me £3.19 for a 125ml bottle, that’s cheap ^^ a big plus is that it lasts for months.
@lonelily
Everything we buy is made up of chemicals..even soap is made up of chemicals that doesn’t mean we’ll all stop using soap and switch to using milk&honey instead.
@ MUA ROCKS
“And I, for one, have no qualms about a product’s price if it is JUSTIFIED” the same goes for me on that one.
i know all things contain chemicals. However, drugstore products contain HARSH chemicals such as the same chemicals found in laundary detergent. Who wants to put that on their face? I am just saying that products with natural extracts or things like tea tree oil, honey, olive, cucumber etc are better for you. Otherwise you might as well go to your laundry room and pour your laundary detergent over your face.
goodbye. i am done with you asshole lickers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with some that DNA cannot be completely repaired, either she’s trying to mislead us consumers to buy her products or she said it wrongly.
“Rule of thumb, if you’ve never heard of it and it is expensive, it’s because it works.”
BS! Expensive stuff doesn’t mean it works.
@MUA
I pretty much agree with what you’ve said. She once said her products are going to be align with drugstore prices and now look at the prices! Its not the prices that pissed me off, but how she put it as “products will be drugstore prices” and now she goes on and says because of her ingredients, her stuff have to be marked high.
I, too, love her makeup tutorials. But the way she talks about her brand and how WONDERFUL it is, it sounded like cut & paste.
Yeah, just want add some comments about the post. If new-launched cream can repair the DNA and “it reacts like a chain and repairs the rest”, it sounds like a magic to me. I doubt if it’d work.
I tried some high-end department store skin care lines like La Prarie, Revive, and Mernard (from Japan) but they don’t work like magic within one day as she referred. They worked but you need to wait for 4 weeks to really see the different. If the product worked within 1 day, it must cost more than $200/ bottle and I’m wondering how big the market she wants to capture if that was the case. (Expensive products = worth the money = great skin)
I would recommend healthy diet and go head with produts which don’t worsen your skin condition. That’s the best of all.
Best Regard,
Again, don’t mean to offend Michelle because it’s an open discussion. I’m also a great fan of her makeup tutorial
@lonelily
you talk like a 10 year old kid.
sigh i feel like i’m trying to break through a brick wall (that is your skull).
“However, drugstore products contain HARSH chemicals such as the same chemicals found in laundary detergent.”
i like how you state things so matter-of-fact as if you actually are knowledgeable. excuse me for a minute while i wash my face with Tide because obviously that should be the same thing as my drugstore cleanser.
chemicals in detergents (i.e. phosphates and surfactants) work together to act as a detergent.
Just because ONE ingredient that appeared in a detergent is also in a skincare product doesn’t make that product bad.
Example?
Titanium Dioxide. it is in EVERYTHING, even your glorified IQQU.
“i am done with you asshole lickers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
are you……saying goodbye to yourself….?????
I’ve reread MP’s statements and saw this:
““Rule of thumb, if you’ve never heard of it and it is expensive, it’s because it works.””
That, my friend, is flawless logic.
Just a piece of advice. I’ve been following Michelle for awhile now, and it seems to me that her skin is more oily than dry. So if you have dry skin, like I do, you should take all of her advice with an open mind. Sometimes she gives little warnings about what type of skin would be sensitive to whatever she recommends.
*This also might mean IQQU might not work as well for people with dry skin*… Just a guess!
Like several people have said, certain things work for some and not for others!
Michelle, keep up the good work! Don’t give up =)
How do you guys even know that Michelle is brilliant..You don’t even know her. She has skills of a make up artist, and she has some good pointers about natural beauties, but sometimes I wish she would spend more time on non-make up stuff for natural beauties..such as creams or lotions or whatevers..
And, make up should only be used to enhance your looks. i don’t believe any girl including myself, should wear make up every day. It’s just too much..and it’s so “fake.”
I went on to watch natural make up video, then she talked about how to enhance your natural make up and to use make up to make it look like it’s a natural look..then i come on here and i see a blog that says to not wear make up so often or just not wear make up to have a natural look, that’s the best advice she has given.
Don’t get me wrong though, she has some neat skills..
oh, and this part killed it
“Rule of thumb, if you’ve never heard of it and it is expensive, it’s because it works.”
..it makes it sound like it’ll work for every type of skin.
so it’s probably why there are some miscommunication.
i dunno..if you guys want beautiful skin..
honestly, just drink loads of water, it’ll help with the antioxidants and purify your body.
Eat percimon (sp?) too because it has antioxidants which create a healthier and younger look on ou..
don’t pick on pimples….you might lead to an infection
wash your face everyday
moisturize with an oil free moisturizer
and…a little sun won’t hurt….
if you’re really sensiiteive to sun, then sure wear sunblock..but spf 8..isn’t a whole deal………..sure, it’s better than nothing, but if you’re an average person..ur skin cells will naturally heal itself through..so just don’t stay outside for too long.
make up is an enhancement..not a mask.
You guys need to know that the so-called DIY tips like the Aspirin masks weren’t invented by Michelle either.
hey michelle! just wondering which programs you use to edit your videos (:
Hey Michelle! I watch your youtube videos all the time but I was just wondering what brushes you use? And can get them online?? I was having a look at Coastal Scent and I really want the 88 Colour palette that you got, and i saw that they also sold brushes there. You think it’d be worthwhile to buy the brushes from there too?
Thanks!!
are you perhaps referring to extracts from Cat’s Claw? possibly quinic acid? I think you would get less backlash from people if the science in your explanation sounded more solid. We’re readers of all ages and background so there’s no need to completely simplify things, if that was your intention. If it acts like an anti-inflammatory agent then by all means say so. I think we would all have a much more interesting discussion rather than the insults being flung around now.
Of course I’m making assumptions about the ingredients and it could be something else entirely.
is it animal tested?
do you know a lot if not most of the products you use in all your videos are animal tested?
Hey man.
. But of any, you are doing a marvelous job.
hm…. I randomly discovered your youtube channel about… idk 2 weeks ago? Anyways… I just wanted to say that you made me reinvigorated about myself and my dreams. How cool is it that you’ve made your life some crazy adventure all through your passion for something you enjoy and care about? I’m jealous for sure, but maybe more like inspired.
Well, the next time you’re feeling discouraged or lonely or lost or anything bad… just think of this and how many other girls you’ve influenced. Not all of us get to share our coolness with everyone
(If on the off chance you feel like writing back, my email is jewell.taylor@hotmail.com… or face book, I think I may be a fan now?)
Sincerely,
Jewell
P.S. I don’t usually do this type of thing… so I hope you take my words to heart.
My mom uses that stuff and people say she looks 30,and she is 40 lol
i’ve tried a coastal scents brush and i LOOOOVE it. of course, you’ll hear mixed reviews. a lot of people say it smells, but i have no smell at all with mine. just wash all your brushes before you start using them. but the one i have is synthetic buffer brush large and it’s super soft.
Ni Lao Michelle!
You’ve change my live.! I was watching your films , and after that I just realise that I can be quit pretty , cute.. I stil don’t like my self but something change, now I’m a bit more confident..Thank you for that .! I don’t really know whats your mother tongue but I want to say:wo ai ni!
[ sorry about my english, it's not really good.]
P.S If you will be able to please, write to me scrapp4u@gmail.com
no worries picachu, incase you think my previews comment was intended for you, it’s not.
it was for a general cause
_peace
Michelle, I love your videos and all… BUT I will have to disagree this time with your inaccurate comments about the compound “repairing DNA” etc. It’s not that simple. I believe marketing is essential to successfully sell a product, but not making magical claims like these that are misleading.
I have been working in mol genetics field for years and I do agree with some of the previous comments from the med school and science major students – check the facts, and don’t be misleading. Not internet websites, but good quality research journals.
it sounds interesting, i will wait to make any judgements.
joanna,
she is vietnamese, so she could know some basic mando or canto by chance, but i wouldn’t try it haha x
are you even chinese? because “ni lao” does not mean “hello”. The first thing that came into my mind when I saw it was “你老” which means “you old” when you translate it directly. you’re probably meaning “ni hao/你好”
what i think is that michelle is a talented make-up guru.
what i do not know is what type of a person she is.
what we should do is accept her advice with an open mind.
we have to take chances; not everything works for everyone.
marketing scheme or not, this is a decision that can only be justified after we have tried the product itself.
her statement may be flawed, but it may contain some truth in it.
what i believe is that we should appreciate her for her talents, and maybe her looks.
perhaps we can keep the negative and personal comments about her character to ourselves, cause we do not actually know her well enough to judge her as a person.
well, that is my personal opinion(:
Michelle, your comment on Twitter about wearing padded bras being sad, and false advertising.
You’re being hypocritical on concept. What’s wrong with faking it to look good? Millions of girls do it everyday including yourself by means of applying makeup. You yourself promote wearing contacts that aren’t your real eye colour. Sad? Tell me, is wearing false lashes sad because it’s false advertising? All the women on Victorias secret ads, sad?
Please, think about it before you post crap like that.
I support you Michelle, but as a cell bio major, I’m also going to have to agree that DNA doesn’t work that way.
michelle, you have the best skin ever! i wanted to buy your IQQU products for people for christmas, and so i happily tried to get into your website to purchase them, but your website doesnt work ? I have no idea but it just says “Forbidden”
WHAT IS THIS?? noooooo! i wanted to buy IQQU so bad!
As much as I love Michelle and her videos, I gotta say this post was a step in the wrong direction. And I hate to see a bunch of people judging her based on this one post–Michelle has said several times that she doesn’t think she’s perfect, NOR does she know everything about make-up or skincare. She’s worked hard to bring us all fantastic make-up tutorials and skincare tips–has she ever once claimed to be an expert or the innovator behind asprin masks, rice water, or anything? No. She simply brings the information to us, her viewers. She’s been working on her skincare line for years now, so there’s no reason to believe that anything less than her best is being put into her work–its her brainchild, after all.
But it shoots your credibility to make those “magical statements,” Michelle! I mean, we eagerly look forward to your lines to drop–we just wanna be 100% sure you know about all the ingredients before we put it on our faces, lol. Keep up the good work! And as always, f**k the haters and trolls.
I’ve been wanting to try this product out to smooth my skin a bit.
I already ordered it, however, I haven’t gotten a mail back yet indicating that the product is being shipped over.
It’s been a couple weeks too.
I am no hater either, as I enjoy Michelle’s makeup tutorials. However, I had a hard time believing she had written this post because it didn’t sound like her. Yes, typos happen, but it really caught me off-guard when she typed “different” instead of “difference.” Okay, maybe that’s just being nit-picky, but isn’t it usually little things like that in phishing emails that raise a red flag? Like others have said, this post smells of nothing more than a marketing ploy to justify the high cost of some future IQQU product. Either it was Michelle who was misinformed, or she thinks the majority of her fans are idiots enough to believe that she just got her hands on something that would completely revolutionize medical and cosmetic science, yet managed to stay completely under the radar. I think we are still years if not decades from finding a way for DNA to be repaired from some serum. Michelle is now in the business of being in business. Keep this in mind before you make an uninformed purchased based on bogus info. DO YOUR RESEARCH, FOLKS!!! Don’t say people didn’t warn you! This goes for all sorts of companies, not just cosmetic ones.
Again, I don’t think Michelle wrote this post. I don’t think she would have the heart to scam people like that, and she probably had someone else write it for her.
I think Michelle is one of the greatest artist out there. Yes it’s true that she is beautiful and young so anything would look good on her skin. Many people in the beauty industry make money off of their beauty and youth. It’s her web site and maybe that’s how she is getting compensated for her time , work , and talent. No body in their right mind would invest money , time, doing videos, and share all their secrets without the thought of getting something in return (like fame , money, or recognition). Most regular bloggers now a day do it to have an extra income. I don’t see anything wrong with what she is doing. I think Michelle is a very smart business person and she has a great persona to help her products. It is after all her own website. We all get paid when we go to work. Michelle needs money like everyone else too. It’s not like she is hurting anyone.
WHAT IS IT CALLED??!?!?!?
wait what? Telomerase stimulation is still in its very infancy. Current tests are being done on worms and yeast. It cannot be stimulated by an herb. Scott Robb is making claims that have absolutely no foundation in current scientific research.
DNA damage happens every time we go out into the sun. The body repairs most of that damage itself. There is no beauty product that can repair DNA damage, especially not through topical one-time application.
Well if it really was Michelle who posted this, I’m sure she’d do a video on it if it was that amazing.
Or, instead of arguing and speculating, we can ask her personally to clarify this post.
But yeah, if it was someone who hacked into her blog to post it, there’s no way they can forge a Youtube video of it too.
hello Michelle,
wooooooow, I am absolutely blown away by your videos! got an important night out tonight and will try to apply what I hope I have learnt. just discovered your tutorials yesterday
keep the hardwork and thank you very much you seem very nice.
LifeMap ME Skin Repair Serum
I think the serum Michelle is referring to is the LANCOME Genifique, Youth Acting concentrate. It costs $90 Canadian for a 30ml bottle and $125 for 50ml. I’m not particularly against Michelle or any of her work. I just don’t quite understand why does she need to use all these high end skin care products when she’s only 23 ( or 24) ? Maybe as a make up artist, she has to keep her skin looking flawless in order to present the best of herself in front of the crowd. Besides, she has the money now to purchase all these luxurious goodies. I guess she’s just one of the few lucky girls who made it into the make up & design industry at such a young age. Maybe some people just don’t feel comfortable about her becoming so successful and popular in such a short amount of time & through Youtube LOL, the most unexpected place to start off with your career. Oh well, there are many people n this world who may have the same dreams as Michelle. Perhaps luck really determines your destiny?
As much as I’m admiring your videos, Michelle. There is such things that are “too good to be true” and I believe this is one of them. DNA cannot be modified that easily or else I would this ingredient on headlines of health newspapers or magazines about its amazing ability to repair DNA and cure disease.
“Rule of thumb, if you’ve never heard of it and it is expensive, it’s because it works”
Oh really, then I gues a jar of cow feces worth $1000 claims to give me youthful skin, it must work.
And just people are being skeptical about Michelle’s claim, that does not make them haters or trollers. Geez
Was wondering where you obtained the ac11, would really like to know. Thanks wonderful girl.
There’s actually one product that I know that’s on the market for couple months that does the DNA repair. It’s from Biotherm called SKIN VIVO. Not sure if this is the one Michelle’s talking about. My friend the manager from Biotherm said it’s a good product and beauty advisor from other counter as well. Although, I don’t believe in counter skin care product that does the DNA repair. But for people who are interested in repairing DNA product this is one of them.
hey michelle it is me shelby i want to now if you can make a nother video but the video is about birthday make up since my birthday is comeing up january 13 and i need tips since there are going to be cute boys at my birthday party
hehehehehhehehehehheheheheh send back love she!by
Michelle, I really like your videos and you are a great inspiration for me in many ways!
But actually I don’t know why some people use their comments to argue with each other. It’s ok to discuss and be sceptical, but I think insults are not necessary. And to all the people that don’t like her, you don’t have to follow her. The thing about her being fake or just wanting to earn money to me it doesn’t really matter. I read through some of the comments and there were some people for whom she is an inspiration. She helped them to gain more confidence or whatever and for me that is a very beautiful thing. I think that’s what it should be all about and what really matters.
Take care!
oh and I just forgot: I don’t think she is fake at all. (Thats my personal opinion, even though I don’t know her.)
