I would not pay for crooked teeth. It's a waist of money, I guess. And I kinda got a bit of it naturally so...

Hi everyone,
I’m beginning to think the vampire trend may be getting out of hand...
“Yaeba teeth” have become more and more trendy in Japan recently. If this term is new to you, in Japanese, the word yaeba means ‘double tooth’, and it describes the fang-y, pushed-out incisors look that usually results from bunched or crowded teeth.
So why have misaligned teeth become trendy? The crooked, fang-like yaeba teeth are said to make girls seem more approachable; the imperfection is considered desirable because it makes a girl appear more endearing and cute.

This look isn’t exactly new, but it has become increasingly visible and desirable as of late. So much so, in fact, that you can now pay to have your teeth altered to reflect this style: Dental Salon Plaisir in the Ginza district of Tokyo offers a cosmetic procedure in which artificial teeth are applied onto your natural teeth with non-permanent glue. Here are two examples of the finished look from their website:

I don’t know much about the health implications of this procedure, but in this CNNGo.com article, an interviewed orthodontist says: “It’s a crazy idea… Teeth have holes to let oxygen in. Covering them is bad for the tooth’s health.”
Hmm…
I’ve always believed that many perceived imperfections in appearance add uniqueness and personality, and actually enhance a person's beauty. But is buying our quirks through cosmetic procedures taking it to an extreme? Or is this just a more unusual and drastic beauty alteration, similar to drawing on a beauty mark or growing out our eyebrows? Tell me what you think about all this in the comments section below.

Probably the stupidest trend that could only come from Japan (tops the enlarged pupils).
If girls there wanted to show "imperfections", they could try a couple of things that don't cost a penny. Like no/lesser makeup, not wearing heels, and not bleaching their face (amazing how many facial cleansers have whitening properties). Oh yeah, and not getting rhinoplasty.
I wouldnt pay for crooked teeth...but I think its cute....if its natural....
i dont need to pay for that, i've already have one exactly the same and honestly im sick and tired of them, i can't even laugh out loud because im not feel confidence about my teeth, when i was in high school, my classmates use to call me a little vampire, i think it's horrible, im gonna put a bracer to fix them :(
I think any procedure to change our appearance based on trends (whether it's getting our teeth straightened or made crooked) is/has always been taking it too far. Unfortunately, it's just another trend. Every society has trends they deem are desirable and there are those people that are insecure and may want to take drastic measures to change themselves to fit in with society. There's nothing wrong with following trends, but it's usually done out of fear that society will not accept them if they don't comply or because they're insecure with themselves and find happiness in changing themselves for others (when reality it does not make them happy).
This is the first time I've seen a trend that goes against traditional "beauty" or perfection. I like how the trend makes people be happy with their imperfections for once! But, having your teeth look crooked on purpose? People need to just be happy with the way they are. People need to EMBRACE what they have! Perfect teeth or crooked teeth - it doesn't matter. In my opinion, everything is beautiful. Instead of making yourself look "imperfect" just accept the imperfections you DO have (based on society's standards of perfection/beauty).
It's a little disturbing that Japanese women are going out of their way to crowd their teeth. The reasoning that men find these women more approachable because it dents their perfection is so highly disturbing. It actually makes me laugh (in a sad, depressing way). Apparently being the best you can be is a bad thing. And don't even get me started on the infantilizing nature of this. It's creepy that women don't just want to look young, but like little girls... talk about pedophilia. What happened to the ideal of a strong, confident woman? Not an awkward, crooked teeth little girl. It's one thing to keep your teeth crooked because it gives you character, another to change your teeth to give you that little girl glow. This doesn't just apply to Japanese women or American women though, it's just another case of the pressure put on women to look a certain way. Talk about a reality check!
I feel so bad right now!!!!! I have this type of teeth (my canines point outwards) but it's natural!!!! I didn't do it on purpose at all!!!!!!
Seems odd that a lot of Americans are so caught up with paying insurance companies to get medical care and dental care. Why not just save the money and use it for actually paying for the cheap medical and affordable dental work that you need. . .Are there any other groups other than OPtumhealth.com (medical) or healthsouk.com (dental, dentistry) that provides an opportunity for people to pay their doctor directly?
