I don’t consider Michael Jackson the King of Pop. He was more than that. To me, he was a King. Like most of everyone, I’ve been mourning ever since I heard the news about his death. I still cannot believe it’s real. I remember listening to his music and watching his music videos on tv. He was spectacular and people looked passed all the good he did.
Michael Jackson has done more good to the world, but the media portrayed him in a different light.

I remember breaking down and crying…the kids are going to suffer the most because they lost a father, not an icon
Our prayers will go out to them…
I remember listening to this song as a child…and felt so compelled and uplifted. He was truly amazing…
We’ll miss you Michael….Your music will live in our hearts

P.S Remember the painting I did was for a class assignment poking fun of Michael Jackson? I’m sure a few of you remembered what it was for. I was in no way intentionally hurting Michael, I have nothing but love for him….I took it down out of respect.

As you all can tell, I am a HUGE Tim Burton fan. I love his style (it’s apparent in my previous Tim Burton makeup inspired entry) and I love his vision. One of his biggest inspiration is Edgar Allen Poe (which happens to be mine too!) and his dark, hunting fairy tales are always unforgettable.

Here are some press photos of the new Alice in Wonderland movie. I must say, after reading the original book written by Lewis Carroll, I was waiting for a darker version of this story. Thank you Mr. Burton.
Mr. Depp himself as the Mad Hatter. I can’t wait to see his performance!
Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen
Anne Hathaway as the White Queen
Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum
Some environmental concepts
Eerily beautiful no?
And of course, Alice herself
I love how Tim Burton is staying true to the original feel of the book. Although, it’s a tad bit darker, compare his vision to the artists Dalziel and Arthur Rackham who were the original artists of Alice in Wonderland.
Notice how deformed Alice looks? Compare it to the Red Queen. Very similar! Love it!
Arthur Rackham is one of my all time favorite illustrator. His use of monotones and inks flow so beautifully. I love his ethereal feel…
Tim Burton’s color scheme is very similar right?
Beautiful
Infamous scene
Happy Un-Birthday indeed.
My fav
I love the energy in that one…
So back to the Red Queen. I love how wacky the makeup look, I ran to my bathroom, took what I had and came out with this
Yes, I know it’s not spot on, but I tried my best with what I had. I needed spirit gum for my eyebrows…sigh…next time.
I hope you enjoyed the entry.
Until next time!
