When it comes to beauty, there are no rules. You can make em and break em. As long as you are satisfied, thats all that really matters right?
I’m usually really laid back when it comes to my daily makeup routine. Yes I am a makeup artist, but that doesn’t mean I have to wear my entire makeup collection on my face. My skin would die from suffocation!
My daily makeup is simple, concealer under the eyes, lipgloss and EYEBROWS.
My hair stylist believes hair frames the face. I say eyebrows frame the eyes. Remember the cliche “Eyes are the windows to the soul“? Well it’s true, the eyes are usually the first thing that attracts attention to the face. So you want to make sure they’re beautifully framed like a masterpiece painting.
If you want to change the look of your face, change your eyebrows first. Majority of the time, it will make the most dramatic difference.
Now they’re are different ways to achieve your perfect brows. I can sit here and show you all the different techniques, illustrations, guides and endless examples of brows to choose from.
They even invented kits. Fool proof right?
With so many choices, how do you know which is the perfect brow for you?!
I can’t answer that question. I cannot be the judge for that. However, I can offer you some looks you SHOULD steer away from.
The No Eyebrows Look.
For example, let’s take Adriana Lima. She is a perfect example of perfection. Her lips, nose, body, hair and of course, eyes. They’re piercing all right. A perfect pair of eyebrows doesn’t hurt either.
Now, lets take a look at her Givenchy 2009 Ad Campaign…where they removed her beautiful brows. The outcome?
Drumroll…
Jaw Drops…WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? Who was the art director for this? Explain yourself!
I’ll tell you how. Removing your brows. It sure does play an important factor in that. Adriana is beautiful, but please leave her brows alone.

The no eyebrows look is hard to pull off. Not even the lust worthy Megan Fox is capable of it.
Wow…she’s bombing…dang…errr…no…ewwww….why….gouches eyes out.
Even in high fashion, they attempt the no eyebrows look…but I can understand why they would want to.
Have you noticed how…outer worldly these girls look? Borderline alien/androgynous right?
The absence of brows creates a more intelligent presence. The bigger and higher the forehead, the smarter one appears.
Magdalena Frackowiak actually looks decent compared to the rest sporting the no brows look. I guess it varies from people to people.
Side note, I did her makeup for Fashion Week! She was checking her cellphone real quick when I was letting her mascara dry. She’s so sweet!
So my best advice to find your perfect brows, but without compensating for your mistakes by waiting for the rest of your tweezed hairs to grow out is to…
Photoshop my friend. Photoshop new eyebrows and find the right look.
Here I took a straight on photo of my face. Completed with my usual set of brows.
From there, I went went on a creative rampage and created new sets of brows to my liking. No tweezers involved!
The Skinny. Skinny with a lower arch.
I call this one the Korean. Darkern the color.
The Brooke Shields. The Bleach. Makes me look older right?
The Arch. The Perfect. Brings balance and harmony to my face.
Experiment, don’t be afraid to try new things.
Not everyone looks best with the perfect arch brows. It would not be the same if Audrey Hepburn did not have her signature boyish brows.
She looks MUCH better with her elf like brows.
Find the right look that makes YOU happy. You know your face best and that makes you the director. The world is your stage, so express yourself!

I’m 12 years old and I have a problem…
I had really thick eyebrows so I started plucking them, but now I plucked them TOO MUCH so it looks uneven and abnormally thin. How can I fix it? And when I make a face, there’s like a line forming above my eyebrows that’s shaped like my eyebrows before I plucked them. Ugh, is there anyway to fix it, make it better, or do I just have to grow it back and pluck it? I’m so stressed about it, HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Hi Michelle, I’m from London . My friends and I adore you. Sadly I don’t have a you tube account (for personal reasons) so I can’t subscribe. However I also take a huge interest in beauty. I also have my own website but I can’t share it because it’s just for me and my friends and more like a blog to keep track of all my fantastic home remedies. More to the point, I love alll your face masks e.g. tomato scrub. Absolutely awesome. I would appreciate it if you could make more videos like that. Also you have so many things in your bag (purse). I’m Brittish and a purse is the equivelant of a wallet. More to the point, how do you cope with so many things in your bag? All I carry is my wallet, my phone, a spare hairband and a lip balm. Not nearly as much as you. By the way it’s my 15th b-day soon and I absolutely have no clue what to get. I’m ginger and because of this i have incredible fair eyebrows and eyelashes…. my mum wont let me get them tinted because im very likely to be allergic to the dye… so thanks for just letting me know that i look like an alien and samara from the ring…. =.=’ as if i wasn’t self conscious enough about my eyebrows already. next time, think about who you might be offending before you decide to insult something natural.

I love you Michelle, and your makeup and diy videos are really helpful, but I dont really agree with this post on dissing the no brows look. Some people have medical conditions, cancer, certain medications, etc that cause them to lose their hair and eyebrows. Its not like they choose or want them to come off. I saw a girl on the Tyra show who had cancer and she was bald and had no eyebrows or eyelashes, but she knew how to model and work her face and she was so gorgeous! So please just consider this next time you put down a certain look or style.

And if you can’t dye your eyebrows or eyelashes, you could always draw your eyebrows and put dark mascara on your lashes.
